Why Grace?

Approximately 1,536 years after God created the Earth and everything in it, mankind had fallen into deep corruption, violence, and outright rebellion against their Creator. It became so severe that “every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually” (Genesis 6:5). God could not allow this to continue; judgment was His only just response. Yet, in the midst of this widespread wickedness, one man stood out — Noah. He lived righteously, and because of his righteousness, he found grace in the eyes of the Lord. This grace provided a way of escape from the coming judgment. And here, we begin to see the heart and intent of God’s grace. But if Noah found grace because he was righteous, where does that leave someone like me?

I have sinned (Romans 3:23).

My “righteousnesses are like filthy rags” (Isaiah 64:6).

“There is none righteous, no, not one” (Romans 3:10).

This would seem to leave me hopeless — unable to ever find grace on my own. But then comes Romans 5, which tells us that one righteous man’s act brought a gift to all — and that gift is grace, leading to justification. And here’s the good news: this grace is not reserved for the righteous.

“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men” (Titus 2:11).

Why Grace Church of Tosa?

At Grace Church of Tosa, we believe in that amazing, unmerited, life-transforming grace of God — and we believe it’s for everyone. It is God’s grace that saves. It is God’s grace that changes hearts. It is God’s grace that leads us to an eternal reward. And this grace is actively calling out to all people — right now. That’s why our church stands on this truth:

"Where everyone has a future, and no one has a past."

No matter what your story is, no matter how far you’ve fallen, you are not disqualified from God’s grace. In Christ, your past no longer defines you — grace does. And in Him, you are given a new future filled with hope, purpose, and eternal promise. Paul spoke in Ephesians 3:2 of “the dispensation of the grace of God which was given to me for you.” This "dispensation" refers not just to the time we’re living in, but also to our calling — to share God’s grace with others.

At Grace Church of Tosa, we see that as our mission. We are here because grace found us, and now, we want to share it with you.
